Apartment Fun!

Romans 12
White stencil on black cardboard that was supposed to be the backings for a shelving unit from Target.
For the white stencil, I just cut out some big letters/numbers out of some tougher white paper.
Borders are made of black electric tape and pearl beads hot glued on the corners.

Seaside!
The Olivet Nazarene Volleyball Team had lots of fun in Florida over Fall Break, and I got a lot of great pictures of the ocean.

Four Strand French Braid

How To: Four Strand French Braid!
1. Separate four strands at top of the head.
2. Outside left piece goes under then over two middle pieces, Right outside piece goes under then under two middle pieces.
3. Collect new hair (as with a french braid) with the outside left piece, and continue ‘over then under’. With right outside piece collect new hair also.
4. Continue all the way down, and finish with a regular 4 strand braid, or any other braid!

Banana Bread Frenzy!

Hello!
Today was craft day for me, I did a lot of decorating in the apartment, which I will be posting soon. However I also had a first time endevour of making banana bread by myself! (while my friend Clarissa sat and helped when needed ;D) I got a bunch of bananas from a volleyball tournament I played at, so I needed to do something with all of them.
So, while I was talking to her, my mom found a great healthy recipe for banana bread with applesauce. I also put in plenty of walnuts and raisins, which the recipe doesn’t include. But my friends and I tried it, and it tastes great!! Check out the recipe here.
I still had three bananas left, so I tired something I had found while searching out recipes. Banana Pudding Pops! It may sound a little weird, but I am optimistic. Depending on how adventurous you are, you can try also putting raisins and walnuts in the pudding for a little crunch.
Over spring break I went to Nashville, and have this awesome branch stores/stands called Las Paletas that sell home made popsicles with different fruits/nuts/anything you can think of in them. They were delicious, so I love oatmeal, so I am going to try putting oatmeal in my next batch of pops!
Enjoy

Waterfall Braid

Waterfall Braid:
Sup Everyone! So I learned how to do a waterfall braid a while back. I found a pretty good tutorial here at Beautylish. There are also a lot of youtube videos on it too.
So I took what I learned from these tutorial, and did a little improvising and came up with a layered waterfall braid. It turned out looking more like a woven basket in the end, but still pretty sweet!
Step 1: Take the hair like you would for a french (3 pieces), french braid the left piece, drop the right piece, and pick up a new piece. Basically you repeat that process until you get to the middle back of the head.
Step 2: After repeating the process on the opposite side of the head, use a small rubber band to connect both sides together.
Step 3: For your second layer, use the the piece that you dropped from the first layer as the top (left) piece of your french braid. Continue dropping the right piece and picking up a new piece underneath for the next segment.
Step 4: After you have gone all the way around on either side, and done all of your layers, you can choose how to finish the back. In the picture above I braided all of the hair in the back together in a french braid in the back. Then when I got to the nape of the neck I used the strands from the 4 layers and finished it with a four strand braid .
I hope this makes sense, and I hope you guys like it!! I will be doing more stuff like this coming soon :D

Apartment Design

My Apartment!! Check out the latest design I have done on my apartment. I found a lot of cool stuff at this local thrift store in IL.

These are more pictures from our apartment ^^^
I found this window pane at the thrift store for only $7! I also got this awesome sign at a clearance sale at the Crackerbarrel, which was such a fun surprise. I think it was like $6.
I put some little tea lights in the lantern that I also got at the thrift store, just to ad some interest into the centerpiece. I The hanging tiki wood is from my roommate, but I think that and the other branches that we hung down pull all the colors together.
I still am working on these ornaments that I am putting strands of paper with quotes and verses on them. I just need to figure out where to hang them yet.. :D
